DAPI is as a blue nuclear counterstain. DAPI counterstain is in Fluorguard™ anti-fading mounting medium. Store at -20°C. Prior to use, DAPI must be equilibrated to ambient temperature.
DAPI preserves fluorescence during prolonged storage of sample slides. But
DAPI counterstain does not solidify and will be dried out during storage. For later review of the stored slides, remove old DAPI counterstain by soaking slides in 2X SSC or 1X PBS for a few minutes. Then, re-apply fresh DAPI counterstain to the slides .
